SHE-HULK FIGURE

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

This is just a review but the thing is FS doesn’t have a review category for toys :P
I just recently bought a She Huk action figure by Hasbro from Marvel legends line. This is my first Marvel figure that i have since Marvel legends went from ToyBiz to Hasbro.
Since i’m a Hulk-related figures collector, of course i gotta have this one.

Packaging
I like the packaging of these new ML lines, lotsa graphics and more colorful. But since i don’t keep my figures MOC (Mint On Card), i didn’t pay attention much to the packaging. Soo….."RIPPPP!!!!"…."POP!"

Sculpt
It’s a good thing that Hasbro doesn’t use the existing generic female body (e.g Elektra or Phoenix’s body). Shulkie’s body is an all new sculpt, with taller proportion (She’s taller than the Thing from FF..just a bit), more muscular tones and sculpted costume instead of just a paint job. The costume looks padded with spandex wrinkles. What about the body sculpt? As i’ve said before, this is a new body and i hope Hasbro won’t reuse it for another female figures in he future because Shulkie’s body is taller than some of the ML figures (Male and female). Hasbro added muscles to her thighs and her arms. If you see his figure from the side, you can see that she has more curve than the previous female figures (Yes, i’m talkin’ about her "assets", front and back for you female figures enthusiast out there). Hasbro elimnate some of the useless joints in order to achieve better sculpt but i’ll talk about this later..
The face sculpt is..Shulkie has the better face sculpt among female ML figures (especially that horse faced Emma frost and Scarlett witch!!!!!). They sculpted Shulkie in a happier moment (She’s one of the happy happy joy joy character in comics). Her hair sculpted nicely as well but with harder material (than let’s say Warbird’s hair). Her hands sculpted open palmed and yes they also eliminated the articulation on her fingers (It never looked good anyway).

Paint
No issue here. No bleed as far as i know. The paint on her face is fine. Since she’s made from green material, not much paint issue here. Everything loks allright. Personally i prefer if only they use lighter green for her skin color (Just like Marvel select’s version) but this is just me. Your pinion could be differ.

Articulation
Marvel legends = lotsa articulation. Sometimes the articulations ruined the nice sculpts of the figures. Not this time. Hasbro ditch the biceps, forearms, legs and waist cuts. That’s quite a few but honestly those (except the waist cut) are pretty useless joints! Don’t be afraid though, Shulkie still be able to rotate her arms thanks to the new rotating joints on her elbow. Yes, they combine the elbow articulation with hinge and rotating joints now. They also combined these kind of articulation to her wrist so, in large areas you have a nice, clean, uncut body parts. they also changed the ball jointed stomach to the original hinge joint. Shulkie only got double joints on her knees and that’s it so her movement on her arms are a bit limited. The neck articulation is limited due to her sculpted hair, you can still move her heads left to right but not too much. She got ball jointed neck of course that means you can also move her head forward and backward SLIGHTLY (again, because of the hard hair). She still retained ankle articulation (same type of joint like on her elbow and wrist). She can easily stand on her own too.

Material
This time they use sturdier plastic but softer than ToyBiz’s.

This is a nice figure but of course not perfect. For a Marvel legends line, this is one of the nicest female figure. Too bad there is no variant of her in FF or classic costume (well in the future maybe…with the savage version as well..maybe).470f_1_b
If you want to complete your Avenger collecton you gotta have one; if you are a Hulk collector like me, you gotta have one; if you are a Marvel legends collector, of course you’ll get one (hahahaaa…) and if you are a lonely boy who prefer your women made of plastic, you should get one :P :P :P
